Overview
IT'S NOT JUST CAMPING; IT'S GLAMPING WITH YOUR FAVORITE BIG-KID TOYS ALONG FOR MORE FUN!!!
Staying in a noisy, uncomfortable hotel is such a hassle, not to mention packing and unpacking, not having enough room for all your things and the added expense of restaurant meals. In this RV you pack ONCE and spend the rest of the time enjoying yourself!!! Cook out! Or Cook in! Don’t miss the Big Ballgame!
When my wife and I decided to retire, we wanted an RV that would feel more like a home to live in, rather than just a weekend getaway camper. We could go have our fun all day then come back to the RV to relax, put our feet up and rest after a long day touring, hiking or motorcycle riding. We slept in comfort and were refreshed the next day to go see America again. We wanted comfort, convenience, storage space and a way to take our Harleys with us.
We made a long list of specific needs, wants and our absolute requirements, then searched for over a year for just the right combination to make our retirement travels both enjoyable and comfortable.
This wonderful RV we found, met all of our needs, and we are certain it will exceed yours as well! Afterall, it’s all about the destination, isn’t it?
This Grand Design 374TH Fifth-wheel Toy-hauler is literally bigger than some apartments, but can go on the road to what you want to see! It is composed of three distinct living areas, a rear garage, massive storage compartments underneath as well as an outdoor entertaining feature! Five slides in total almost triples the living space on the inside!
The spacious front living room is complete with two reclining theater seats facing a 50" HD Smart TV with surround-sound speakers. The theater seating features vibration massage and heat with electric foot recliners. A beautiful programmable electric fireplace for ambiance or heat, if the night turns chilly is in the front of the room. A ceiling A/C unit keeps the front section comfortable in warmer zones. The back bedroom has its own ceiling A/C unit which can be set to a separate temperature as desired.
Two side-facing sleeper-sofas fold out to make sleeping room for 4 adults. A privacy curtain can be extended to make it a 2nd bedroom if necessary. The front living room features ample storage cabinets and drawer space as well.
The center section is the kitchen and dining area. It is equipped with an 18-cu ft. electric/gas refrigerator/freezer, 3 gas burner stove, gas oven, and a convection/microwave oven. The dual-sink center island makes meal prep and clean-up a breeze. The dual opposed slides make this room large and roomy. Four adults can comfortably sit at the dinette table. The bench-seating we added has additional storage inside them. The kitchen area features ample storage cabinets throughout, a large food/supply pantry as well as a built-in all-in-one washer/dryer combo unit which saves both time and the expense of going to a laundromat for most normal clothes loads.
The Master bedroom suite features an extremely comfortable 12” thick memory foam Queen Bed and a 30-inch TV. It has his-and-hers mirrored closets on each side of the bed, and two more large additional mirror hanging closets and drawers on the side containing the slide. The advantage of the slide in this room allows you full walking space along each side of the bed, which you won’t find in many RVs. The room also has a back window shelf area for books, phones, or electronics-charging etc. The bedroom features its own separate A/C unit to help keep you comfortable as you sleep.
The spacious bath is adjacent to the bedroom. It is far roomier than most R/V camper baths with a full-size walk-in shower featuring glass doors, sink, toilet and plenty of additional cabinet space with mirrors on each too! No cramped camper shower here!
Clean-up of the interior floor is made easy with a built-in central vacuum system that reaches throughout the RV.
The “Toy Box” garage is one of the selling features of this R/V that we really came to love. Entering in the back, you will find a 63"W x 111"D x 65"H (5.25 ft W x 9.25 ft D x 5.4 ft H) garage. A simple easy to lower and lift ramp allows you to roll in an ATV, one or two motorcycles, a golf cart or simply for large item storage such kayaks, canoes or several bicycles. A hydraulic mechanism raises the overhead bed so you can walk right in without ducking down.
An outside entertainment area is great for prepping and grilling out and relaxing with family and friends. It features another TV, a radio/stereo, as well as a small fridge for keeping drinks and condiments cold and a 2 burner gas stove. Two full length awnings extend out for shade. Awning lights provide night-time light.
Additional storage abounds with 2 large pass-through storage compartments, a partial storage compartment on the back side and an additional storage compartment in the front-nose area. In all there are 4 separate basement storage areas along with the huge garage space!
Grand Design has made Camp Setup a breeze.
Once unhooked from the tow vehicle just hit an Auto level button. The leveling system will do all the work for you. We will provide detailed instructions on hooking and unhooking tips and how to easily operate the automatic leveling system. Chocks and Jack Pads will be provided.
We have a built-in EMS System (Electrical Management System) that acts as a 24/7 guardian between the campground power pedestal and the RV electrical panel. Once you connect to the 50-amp Campground electrical supply this up-graded EMS system protects from costly damage and alerts you to voltage fluctuations, protecting against power surges which could damage your electronic devices. The RV can also run on 30-amp if no 50-amp is available. However, power management is required.
Water management is also super easy thanks to an easy-to-follow, convenient Nautilus System built-in to its own dedicated bay. Well-labeled control knobs and a visual aid chart make switching from city water to dry camping, filling and flushing tanks very easy and quick. The tanks hold 100 gallons of fresh water, 100 gallons “grey” water (non-sewage drain water) and 50-gallon black tank (sewage) making off-grid camping for about 7 days possible for most families. There is also a hose which can be used to rinse sand/dirt off you. It can be hooked up on either side of the RV. This is super convenient for rinsing off after a day at the beach, lake or stream.
