Overview
Easy to drive and breezy fresh air flow through the pop top and side windows! Imagine enjoying the freedom that comes with simplicity... the ability to focus on the beautiful outdoors and your planned wonderful activities... yet not have to sleep in a tent on the ground? Leave the complexities of RV plumbing, cooking, and electrical systems behind. Try a "weekender" style camper van like this Mercedes Metris!
This conversion by GTRV has just the basics: a bottom bed (77"L x 63"W) which folds down from the rear couch, and upper bed (76"L x 44"W) in a pop-top. 2 adults below and 1 adult above would be very comfortable. 2 children could also fit above. So, sleeps 3-4.
There are screened windows both below and above for ventilation.
Perfect for parking at a campground that has toilets and sinks/showers.
This van is hardly used, very clean, and well-maintained.
Also works very well as an athlete-event vehicle. For example, an ultra-runner can sleep here the night before race start instead of in their car or a tent. Also, it could serve as a nice parking lot retreat for the parents of a child on a traveling team... imagine being able to lay down once in a while away from the bleachers/stands!
One of the best features about this camper van is the comfort and ease of travel. Compared to full-size Class B vans or larger RVs, this Metris is light weight, has a great turning radius, excellent gas mileage, easy parking, and the ability to go to drive-thru restaurants without worrying about height or width clearance. No swaying on the highway due to wind. Drives just like a family minivan!
Of note, this camper van is not lifted and has street tires. If you plan to leave the pavement, a 4wd Sprinter, Econoline, etc. would be a better selection. This is geared for those who want to have a very easy traveling experience and either want to stay in a developed campground with amenities or a parking lot at the athletic event.
