    Why People Visit:

Seattle, or "The Emerald City", is a major hub in the middle of some of the most stunning scenery in the country. Nestled between the Olympic Mountains and the Cascade Mountains, Seattle, and its surrounding areas, are home to stunning nature and forests (hence the nickname). Just a short drive allows outdoor lovers to explore places such as Mount Rainier, the Olympic Peninsula, and the San Juan Islands, but city lovers have plenty to explore too! Seattle has a melting pot culture teeming with history and there are many tours that will show you the underbelly of the City. Don't skip the Pike Place Market, as one of the best fish markets in the US, you will find locals eating and buying their dinner there alongside the tourists. Coffee culture is a real thing here, as the birthplace and home of Starbucks, Seattle knows a thing or two about their coffee. Check out a local coffee shop to try some cold brew, or your favorite caffeinated concoction. The seafood should not be missed, but Seattle is quickly becoming a foodie hot spot for all flavors. There is a dish and a cocktail waiting for anyone's taste in Seattle. The craft beer scene is growing rapidly, so if you're into beer, jump into a cab or rideshare and visit some of the off the beaten path breweries, who are pushing the envelope and making some delicious brews. Whatever you're into, book a vacation rental now to come explore all that Seattle has to offer.

    Get There and Get Around:

Seattle has one major airport, Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA). SeaTac is located 14 miles south of the city. There are multiple options for getting into town via the Sound Transit Light Rail, metro bus, taxis, shuttles, major rideshare companies or car rentals that all service the airport and can get you to your vacation rental.

Getting around town? If renting a car, factor in time for traffic and money for parking as it can be costly. On foot? Take the light rail, metro bus, rideshare companies or rent a bicycle to get you to and from the hot spots and your vacation rental.

    What to Wear (The Weather):

Seattle is known as the rainiest city in the country and it definitely lives up to the hype for half the year. October through April are the rainiest months, but springtime, although a bit chilly at times, starts to see sunshine and blue skies. June-August is peak season with mostly sunshine and higher temperatures. But as the PacNW is unpredictable, always best to pack an extra layer or rain jacket.

    Accommodations:

Seattle has around 10,250 vacation accommodation options to choose from. Apartment and condo rentals make up the majority of vacation rentals with an average nightly price of $250 for around 1000ft. These can typically accommodate 4 people making it a good option for a mid-size group or family.  House rentals are the second most popular option being around $300 per night and an average size of 1,600 sq ft. Whatever you're looking for, there are plenty of options in Seattle's many areas to choose your next vacation rental.
